This is the story of Nico, born at 6.15 pm on the beaches of Couples Resorts. Nico was the last of the turtles to come out of the nest. His goal was to reach the ocean fraught with perils, his path to freedom a long one. And, bless his little flippers, he was not quite the fastest, having been left behind by 177 of his brother and sisters! Many of the guests at Couples Resorts were on hand to cheer for little Nico’s survival.
Markson: Environmentalist at Couples Resorts

Markson is the resident environmentalist at Couples Resorts and is an expert on the flora and fauna. He has worked at the resort (formerly the Almond Casuarina Resort) for 20 years. Guests can follow Markson around the resort to learn about plants, animals and the natural history of the island. We catch up with him in between his nature trail walks to talk about swimming with the turtles, renewable energy use on the island and the inquisitive character of the Green Monkey.

Grand Kadooment is the festive finale of the Crop Over, the island’s biggest festival that lasts for five weeks, where a masquerade parade closes the season. The festival is held in Bridgetown and it’s considered one of the biggest and most colourful events in the whole of the Caribbean celebratory calendar.
