Jamaica is renowned for many wonderful things. Its beaches are a beautiful site to behold, the weather is wonderful all year round, and the music continues to be magnificently melodious (with styles ranging from Calypso, Reggae and Soca). The food is considered the finest, not just in the Caribbean, in the whole world. It’s no wonder, as Jamaica boasts some of the top chefs in the Caribbean. The 2013 staging of the Best Dressed Chicken Taste of Jamaica Culinary Competition was held in September over two days at the Montego Bay Convention Centre; where chefs from Jamaican hotels and cookery students participated in various categories.

Jamaica is known for many things; reggae, rum, laidback vibes and some of the most beautiful and breathtaking sunsets. Negril is a perfect setting to witness such natural splendor and indeed the place boasts some of the most spectacular sunsets. The orange hue of the Negril sunset is unique, superb, and unlike any other when compared with other places in the world. The dusky orange rays fill the sky at 5pm and the dazzling golden sun descends on the horizon casting a hazy glow across the island.

Couples Tribute: Charlie the Sans Souci Turtle
Friday, Oct 4, 2013
At all the hotels at Couples Resorts we’re used to seeing our fair share of turtles, such as the new hatchlings at our Barbados resort last week, but there’s one turtle that will always remain in our hearts – Charlie, the resident sea turtle at Couples Sans Souci. If you’ve visited the Sans Souci resort you may have been puzzled over the name for the spa, Charlie. The spa took its name from the Charlie, a friendly resident sea turtle who lived beyond the age of 100 years old.
Turtles hatching on the beach at Couples Resorts
Thursday, Sep 26, 2013
This is the story of Nico, born at 6.15 pm on the beaches of Couples Resorts. Nico was the last of the turtles to come out of the nest. His goal was to reach the ocean fraught with perils, his path to freedom a long one. And, bless his little flippers, he was not quite the fastest, having been left behind by 177 of his brother and sisters! Many of the guests at Couples Resorts were on hand to cheer for little Nico’s survival.
