The minimum age requirement is 18. Children under the age of 18 are only welcome on property for wedding ceremonies and must leave directly after the service.
Is tipping allowed at the resort?
Couples Resorts has a NO tipping policy because we believe that this is essential to a carefree, all-inclusive resort experience. This is one of our core policies and we do our best to control this at all four Couples resorts.
Three good reasons why:
- A portion of the room rate you pay includes a gratuity for all our staff members who assure that your stay with us is wonderful every time.
- We want to award our staff members equally, including both those who are guest facing and others who may work behind the scenes. All of our staff put in hard work and we want to ensure they are all rewarded equally.
- Most of all, we have created a wonderful resort where no guest should feel as though they are required to spend more money than they already have. This way, all guests have the same opportunity to be served indistinguishably. We wish for all guests to be treated with the same gold-standard service at Couples Resorts.
What's the best way to tip?
The best 'tip' a guest can give a staff member is a fantastic review upon departure. On the last page in our customer service questionnaire, we encourage you to tell us about any staff member with whom you’ve had an especially great experience. We take these comment cards very seriously and will reward our staff based on their performance. Staff members who are mentioned on comment cards are included in a weekly comment report summary, which is received by all managers who are then prompted to share with the staff on property.
What about gift giving for those staff members we specifically look forward to seeing when we return home?
Although we do not allow tipping, we DO allow repeat guests to bring personal gifts for their favorite staff members. We love having a wonderful bond between guests and staff.
If you choose to give a gift to a staff member, our gift giving procedure at Couples is as follows: A guest who wishes to give a gift is to bring the item with a note which states To: Staff Member's Name, From: Guest’s Name/Room Number. The staff member will then take the gift with the note to management in order to receive a pass acknowledging the item being given and giving permission to the staff member to take the gift off-property to enjoy once their shift is complete! Please remember, however, that gift giving is not an expected practice at Couples Resorts and this is done at each couple's discretion.
We love having you call us your island home and we do welcome you to share a personal thank you to our staff members who have brought a smile to your face every visit whether with a hug, a fantastic review, etc.
Do you allow single adults to stay at the resort?
The Couples Resorts brand exists to promote romantic one-on-one experiences for couples looking to reignite their passion in an idyllic, amorous island setting. All rooms are double occupancy unless you are traveling as part of a contracted group. In such an event, single occupancy rooms may be requested, subject to availability, with the implicit understanding that there is no rate reduction or discount. Double occupancy rates will apply.
